In the News - Bank helps out oncology department with donation

Show Low AZ (July 3 2009) Great Western Bank donated $750 to the Summit Healthcare Foundation to provide assistance to oncology patients by providing gas cards and prescription vouchers to them.

When a patient receives a diagnosis of cancer, it is a shock. Several questions arise, such as "How bad is it? How long do I have to live? What do I tell my family and friends?"

Some things the patient doesn't think of are "how much will the treatments cost? Can I afford to drive to treatment each day?" Many times the Oncology Department staff can get the major medications and treatments covered for the patients but are left with a void when it comes to daily assistance.

Small donations that assist with the unexpected, unplanned expenses, such as gas to drive to treatments or prescription co-pays, is what makes a difference.

The foundation thanks Great Western Bank for what they are doing for cancer patients.
