Sunsites AZ (July 8 2009) Ron Smullins, Sunsites Branch Manager of Great Western Bank, presented the Sunsites Community Association with a check for $500 as part of the "Greater than CD" program.
Sunsites Community Association President Candy Roll said the association will use the donation for public service, including the cleanliness and maintenance of the community.
The SCA promotes clean-up, fix-up activities and most recently sponsored a clean-up day at the Stronghold Area Recreational Park to prepare for July 4th activities. During the day, volunteers also repaired and repainted one of the entry signs to Sunsites. More clean-up days are scheduled.
The donation also will be used to improve the well-used community bulletin board on Frontage Road.
Launched in April, the "Greater Than CD" program is one way Great Western Bank is making life great in the communities it serves. For every certificate of deposit opened under the program, Great Western Bank donated money to worthwhile, local causes in each customer's hometown.
"Community is important to us," said Jeff Erickson, President and CEO of Great Western Bank. "We see the value of investing in the areas that we, along with our customers, call home. This campaign is an investment in the quality of life in these areas and our way of giving back."
