Great Western Bank Pandemic Preparedness Plan

The recent outbreak of the H1N1 (swine) flu virus has led many of us to assess the potential impact a pandemic event would have on our employees and business operations. As you review your plans, we wanted to let you know that Great Western Bank is well-prepared to continue serving you in the event of a pandemic.

Our plans focus on two areas. First, we have already taken a number of steps to minimize the likely impact of a flu outbreak on our employees. These precautions not only address the health and safety of our workers, but allow us to continue meeting your needs.

We also have in place well-developed and thoroughly-tested business continuity plans that ensure our continued operation during these types of situations. Elements of these plans include the ability for our people to work remotely and enhanced technology that allows us to continue all banking processes, even in the unlikely event that we are short-staffed.

At present, the outbreak appears to be moderate in scope, and although we continue to closely monitor the situation, there has so far been no impact on our operations. You can find more information about the virus and current status — as well as common-sense precautions for you and your employees — online from these organizations:

Thank you for your support of Great Western Bank, and we look forward to continuing to work with you in the future.
