On February 28, 2015 employees from Lincoln participated in the Junior Achievement Bowl-A-Thon. A total of 10 teams were able to raise $3,515 for Junior Achievement.
Employees from the Watertown, SD branch presented a check to the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1054 for $500. This money was donated by Great Western Bank employees and corporate. The money is being used to send Vietnam Veterans to Washington D. C. in April to visit the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. It helps defray the costs for veterans who don't have the financial ability to pay for the entire trip.
On February 5, 2015 a group of Sioux Falls employees served a lasagna meal to 298 individuals. The meal was provided by Great Western Bank staff, which also served the meal and provided fellowship to the guests. In addition to serving the meal, this group was able to give an additional $687.50 to The Banquet.
The Great Western Bank Hastings, NE branch, presented the Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters with funds raised during the month of February by Great Western Bank employees. Big Brothers Big Sisters is one of 12 agencies selected to receive funds contributed by local Great Western Bank employees in 2015.
