St. Francis House in Sioux Falls, SD

Julie Becker, Executive Director

“The St. Francis House is blessed to be awarded a grant through the Making Life Great Program through Great Western Bank. This award will assist the St. Francis House with our Homelessness to Hope Capital Campaign to build a new home for the guests of our agency. The Homelessness to Hope Campaign will expand our ability to move people from homelessness to self-sufficiency. The main shelter of the St. Francis House was formerly a convent, built in 1956 for 12 Presentation Sisters who taught at Little Flower. Today, due to housing needs, the main shelter now houses 52 single guests. Due to the age of this building as well as the other homes we own, the need for a new facility is a necessity. Once the new facility is built, we will be expanding from 80 single beds to 120 single beds, 60 for men and 60 for females.”
