Commit to healthy financial habits this year

Around this time of year many of us make resolutions to adopt healthy eating habits and fitness habits, but we forget that healthy financial habits can be just as important.

As a financial planner, I get to see people experience the results of good financial habits and struggle through the effects of bad financial habits.

When it comes to financial planning, people are quick to spout off rules of thumb and quick fix strategies, but each person’s plan needs to fit them, so I find it can be helpful to think about things more basically.

No matter who you are every financial plan comes down to a few questions:

  1. How much are you saving?

  2. How much are you spending?

  3. How much time do you have?

Though we’ve always been strong proponents of financial planning in Wealth Management, we’re making it even more of a priority in 2020 for our clients – are you going to make it a priority as well?
